Year 8 & 9 Boys Futsal Competition

On the evening of 29^th January four teams gathered at Cannock Chase High School’s sports hall for the Cannock and Rugeley SSP year 8 & 9 boys futsal tournament. The winners of the competition book themselves a place in the county finals at Fenton in March, so there was everything to play for.

Winners: Cannock Chase High Runners-up: Fair Oak Academy

There was little to choose between the teams and only the odd goal separated the teams throughout the tournament. By the final game of the competition, Cannock Chase were already crowned champions, but this game would determine the runners-up place. A draw would be enough for Fair Oak, but a win for SUA would win it for them. The score standing at 2 apiece meant that a winner for either team would clinch it! Fair Oak scored a late winner ensuring the runners-up certifcates!.
